Posting windows by niche, converted to your audience's timezone, with a weekly schedule.

A simple weekly schedule

One fresh pin a day in the best window for that day. Consistency matters more than the exact hour.

Mon: 1 fresh pin between 8pm and 11pm
Tue: 1 fresh pin between 8pm and 11pm
Wed: 1 fresh pin between 8pm and 11pm
Thu: 1 fresh pin between 8pm and 11pm
Fri: 1 fresh pin between 8pm and 11pm
Sat: 1 fresh pin between 8pm and 11pm
Sun: 1 fresh pin between 8pm and 11pm

The honest answer

Pinterest is not a real-time feed. Most of a pin's reach comes from search and the home feed over the following weeks, not from the hour it went live. Pinterest's own help pages say “there's no set engagement window for Pins” and that pins “can gain engagement hours, days, months, or even years” after publishing. The same page says to “create Pins frequently and consistently” and to “aim to create original content weekly”.

So timing is a small lever. It still helps to publish when your audience is awake and browsing, because early saves and clicks give Pinterest a signal to show the pin to more people. That is what the chart above optimises for.

How the chart is built

The model is a general weekly curve, adjusted for your niche. The general curve puts evenings around 8 to 11 pm and weekend afternoons highest, weekday mornings and lunch in the middle, and 1 to 6 am at the bottom. Those shapes recur across the large scheduling-tool studies: Hootsuite's 2025 analysis of over a million posts leans to midday on Tuesdays and Fridays, SocialPilot's 2026 analysis of about seven million posts leans to 8 to 9 pm, and RecurPost's 2025 data of two million posts finds a 9 am to 3 pm stretch with an 8 to 10 pm second wave and a 1 to 6 am dead zone. They disagree on the single best hour and agree on the shape, which is why the tool shows windows rather than one magic minute.

The niche shifts are small and deliberate: food rises in the late afternoon when people plan dinner, parenting rises after bedtime and during nap time, business rises at weekday mornings and lunch and drops on Saturdays. Pick your niche in the tool to see the note for it.

How to find your own best time

  • Post one fresh pin a day in the suggested window for four weeks.
  • Open Pinterest Analytics, filter to the last 30 days, and look at impressions and saves by pin. Note the publish time of the top ten.
  • Shift your schedule toward the hours that show up most, then repeat. Your audience is the real dataset.

Frequently asked questions

Is there really a best time to post on Pinterest?
Not a single one. Pinterest says there is no set engagement window and that a pin can gain engagement hours, days, months or years after it is published. Posting when your audience is browsing gives a pin a better first day, which can help, but publishing fresh pins consistently matters far more.
Which timezone should I use?
Your audience's, not yours. Pinterest Analytics shows where your viewers are under Audience insights. For most English-language accounts that is the United States, so US Eastern or Central is a safe default.
How often should I post?
Pinterest's own guidance is to create original content weekly at least, and to focus on quality rather than a pin count. Most active creators publish one to a few fresh pins a day, spread across the week.
Does the day of the week matter?
A little. Studies from scheduling tools disagree on the exact ranking, but Sunday and the start of the week come up most often as strong, and evenings beat mornings almost everywhere. Thursday is the day most often reported as softer.
Where do these numbers come from?
From a documented model, not from your account. It blends Pinterest's published guidance with patterns reported across published scheduling studies and adds small niche shifts. Treat it as a starting point, then check your own analytics after a month of consistent posting.
