How to use a template
- Pick a template above. The color dots under each one switch between its three matched palettes.
- On the template page, change the headline and the small lines, and add your photo if the design has a photo area.
- Keep the headline short. Three to six words in the big text is what reads in the feed; put details in the second line.
- Download as PNG for text-heavy pins or JPG for photo-heavy ones, then upload to Pinterest with a title and description from the description generator.

What makes a pin template work
- One idea per pin. The headline says what the reader gets; the photo shows it.
- Contrast. Text sits on a solid panel or a darkened photo so it reads at thumbnail size. Every template here does this for you.
- Your site name on every pin. Pins get re-saved far from your profile; the name brings people back.
- Consistency beats variety. Two or three templates in one palette, used again and again, build recognition.
Frequently asked questions
- Are these templates really free?
- Yes. Edit and download as many as you like, with no account and no watermark. The fonts are Google Fonts, which are free for commercial use.
- What size are the downloads?
- 1000 by 1500 pixels, the 2:3 ratio Pinterest recommends, as PNG or JPG. That is the right size for standard pins; use the pin size tool if you need other formats.
- Can I use my own photo?
- Yes. Most templates have a photo area. Drag a picture onto the preview or click Add a picture. The photo is placed and cropped in your browser and never uploaded.
- Can I change the colors and fonts?
- Each template has three matched color sets, and you can pick any of the twelve palettes or seven font pairs. Keep one palette and one font pair across your pins so your account looks like one brand.
- Can I save a design and come back later?
- Not yet. Download the pin when you are done. Saved designs will come with accounts in a later release.
- Why do the fonts look different for a second?
- The fonts load from Google Fonts the first time you open the page. The preview redraws as soon as they arrive.
